Personalized. Customized. Innovative.

When was the last time you talked teaching and learning with a CEO?

Why not work hand in hand with them to create knowledge that benefit your students and beyond?

Industry Leader Collaborative Masterclass

Veteran teachers and industry experts have two big things in common: they are deep wells of knowledge and they care about the next generation of people coming through education. We believe that closing the gap between business leaders and industry experts will produce something bold and new.

We are in the process of developing partners and defining the details for our bold leap.

While we are in the planning phase, all are welcome to provide feedback about this working model so that it can be as bold and forward thinking as possible.  If you have interest in the project- we want to hear that too!

Lofty Ideals …

  • This class is ideal for an international group of like-minded teachers with equally like-minded international industry leaders.
  • Using technology, we can collaborate without borders and learn from others, while focusing on a singular task. Meeting times can be flexible, and tailored to the needs of the teachers.
  • Unions and schools will work together, so that this deep dive training replaces a portion of the required staff development hours required for a teacher. This class will run through the entire school year, beginning in the summer months and reporting out in the Spring.
  • Growing this network will produce more nimble, responsive school systems that are proactively seeking the knowledge and skills students need- reducing the need to rely on secondary standards.

01

Action Research Training

  • Working with experts, teachers will learn, through a series of class trainings, how to make high quality, highly reliable, action research proposals.
  • Learning how to make reliable and valid research parameters will frame the approaching of the collaborative work going forward.
  • During this time, the teacher team will hone the specific insights and questions that they desire from industry experts.
  • Teachers are encouraged to think beyond what they have seen and done before and to test the limits of their creativity.  We can always come back down to Earth later.

02

Collaborative Learning with Industry Leaders

  • Industry leaders will meet, collaborate, and exchange ideas with teachers
  • By design, the dialogue is narrowed in scope by topic, but desired to be a free exchange of ideas, questions, and antidotes.
  • We desire all attending to feel comfortable and that their insights are valued, and purposeful.
  • Imagine asking leaders of companies where they see computing science in the future, or asking about industry skills from the people who are setting living it!

03

Research Execution

  • Drawing from these conversations and resources,  teachers will work together to create formal action research plans to be executed in each of their classrooms.
  • By multiplying the amount of classrooms executing a single action research plan, we also multiply the resulted learnings.
  • Teachers will communicate, tweak, control, and collect data as part of the on-going research.
  • Not to be left in the cold, our industry partners will be kept apprised of the ongoing work as it progresses.

04

Reporting and Sharing

  • Teachers will be responsible to produce action research outcomes and support those ideas with relevant research from the field in the form of a formal paper.
  • Papers will be submitted to educational and business journals, shared on media, and used internally in schools to extend the reach of their collaborative work
  • Of course, we need time to reflect upon our journey, make things better fr next time, and get ready to welcome a new group of bold teachers to do it all over again.
